One owner of this house is a licensed real estate broker in Virginia.
PLEASE CONTACT ME ONLY AS LISTED HERE. AT LEAST ONE WEBSITE THAT CLAIMS TO HELP PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HOUSES HAS STOLEN MY LISTING FROM CRAIGSLIST ... THE WEBSITE SENT ME AN EMAIL CLAIMING THAT SOMEONE WANTED TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE HOUSE ... TO SEE THE CONTACT, I WOULD HAVE TO SIGN UP WITH THE WEBSITE ... I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A FRAUD, AND WILL ONLY RESPOND TO PEOPLE WHO CONTACT ME AS INDICATED HERE
The apartment is available RIGHT NOW ... so the sooner you want to move the better! I do require a $950 security deposit, and $950 first month's rent, when you move in. If you move in, in the middle of a month, you will still pay a full month's rent on move-in, and your NEXT month's rent will be prorated, so that all future rents will be due on the 1st of every month. Example: Move in on November 16 ... highly unlikely, since that's tomorrow, as I write this, but it makes the math easy. You will have already paid the $950 deposit, and you will give me $950 first month's rent when you move in. That will cover you until December 15. So, on December 16, you will owe half a month's rent, $475. Then, beginning January 1, your normal $950/month rent payments will be due.
Before I show you the goodies, let me tell you what I will need from you, if you want to rent this apartment. You will have to fill out my colossal application, then give me $40 for each adult who will be on the lease (which should be the same as each adult who will live in the apartment), to cover my expense of running credit checks on the people on the application. After I tell you "It's a go!," you will have to give me, pretty quickly, the $950 security deposit. That covers me, in case you disappear, and it is non-refundable, so if you say you want the place, you better REALLY want the place. In fact, the apartment will remain on the market until you have sealed the deal, with your deposit, so don't delay and lose out!
My policy, by the way, is to take only ONE application, so you will not be competing with anyone. By the time I take your application, I will have already done as much checking as I can, without having your social security number (which you will have to put on your application), and, unless I find some REAL surprises on your credit check, you are more than likely to be accepted. I know that some landlords take a dozen applications, take money for each one, wait a week or two, then choose the applicant with the most American Express cards. I don't do that. I believe that it's evil to take people's money for nothing, and to leave them hanging when they're desperate to find a roof over their head is REALLY evil. So, like I say, ONE application, and, if we get that far, I will already feel good about you. Hopefully you will feel good about me.
Now, the pictures - it's not a fancy website design, because I didn't spend
a lot of time on it. And it would probably look better on a computer, as
opposed to a phone. Because I have designed lots for computers on the web, but
nothing for phones. Perhaps your phone will be smart enough to make the site
look good. These are small pictures for fast page loading; you can click on any
picture to see a full-resolution one, then use your browser's back button to
come back to this page (or right click and open in a new window or tab):
We have walked through the door to the apartment here, and have turned back to look at it. Yes, that will be your front door. Oops! It looks like you left the door ajar when you came in! To your left you can see the door to your bathroom; we'll see that in the next picture. And at your feet is the entry hall -- as we go through the apartment, I'm going to point out room sizes, so I may as well start with the entry hall: it's 5'3" x 2'9". Not that you'll probably put a whole lot of stuff in there. Off to the right you can see a hint of one of the many storage areas that you have around the kitchen. We'll see that in greater detail in the second picture, coming up. |
As promised, here is your bathroom. Yes, there is only a stand-up shower. Sorry -- no tub, so you won't be able to take a bath. But the apartment is only $950 a month! And that includes your necessary utilities (electric, gas, water/sewer, trash collection). And there is a sink in the bathroom, too -- it's hiding, off to the left, behind the door ... I'm sorry that you can't see it, but you probably do know what a sink looks like. You're probably not going to be doing a major amount of decorating in the bathroom, but, just to be complete, I'll tell you that the room is 5' x 5'. |
I did promise you a look at this storage area out in the hall, just before the kitchen, and there it is! Pretty cool -- check out the nice scrollwork (I'm not sure that's exactly the right word -- I mean decorative design) -- you don't see that in many modern bookcases. Storage shelves, and a few drawers -- just kind of rustic, sitting out there. And, there's your refrigerator, right next to it. It looks like you left the front door way open now, by the way! You can also see more of the storage space you have in the kitchen -- cabinets on the wall to the left. Just so you know, the kitchen is 8'6" x 7'0", wall-to-wall. Of course, you have appliances in there, too. Although the refrigerator, as you can see, sits in an alcove, so it doesn't take up any of that space, except when the doors are open. But don't leave them open too long, or your food will spoil. |
And, here's the other side of your kitchen, turning around from facing the refrigerator. The stove, with an exhaust fan above it, and an oven underneath it. The stove is gas, which many chefs prefer to electric. I don't know what you prefer. Various storage areas, in addition to those we've already seen. And, the kitchen sink, with the usual additional storage for detergent and other cleaners, etc. under it. Both hot and cold water -- imagine that! Looking to your left past the stove, you can see a cutout to the living room. So, let's go take a look at that next. |
The living room is so big (17'4" x 11'8") that you can't even see the whole thing in one picture, so we have two pictures of it. Here, to help you get your bearings, you can see the refrigerator and hall bookcase off to the left. Ahead and to the right, you can also see the extra room, that you can use for whatever you want -- an office, extra storage space, a game room, whatever. I'm sure that you'll be able to figure something out. The carpeting is indoor/outdoor carpeting, so it's very easy to keep clean. In fact, it looks like it could use a vacuuming right now. We'll take care of that before you move in, don't worry. |
And, a view of the living room from the other direction. Here, we have turned completely around, so the kitchen is off to our right. And, look, you really do get windows, to see the outside world. And a radiator to keep you warm, in the winter. There are radiators in several places throughout the apartment -- we'll see another one in the bedroom. A lot of people think that hot water in radiators gives the most even and comfortable kind of heat. Unfortunately, this is an older building, and you don't get central air conditioning. But, you could always buy a couple of window air conditioners at KMart (or, choose another store, if they're not still in business), and, since I pay the electricity, running them won't cost you a cent. |
We have just walked through the doorway from the living room to the extra room, that we saw a couple of pictures ago. So, here we are, looking at the extra room, which is 11'4" x 7'7". Certainly large enough for an office, extra storage space, or a game room (unless you want to play volleyball, of course). And, look at that! There's a large closet visible ahead of us. That will be really useful, because there is no closet in the bedroom. We'll look at the closet next, then at the bedroom. |
Well, it is really tough to get a camera into a closet and take a picture. Especially in such a big closet -- it's 11'10" x 2'0". You can see that you have a long hanging bar, to hang your clothes. And, well, there's not really much more that I can say about a closet, so let's race off to see the bedroom. |
At last! The bedroom! And, this is the end of our tour (except we will have a second picture of the bedroom), so, enjoy it. Take a good nap! Out the door to the left, you can see the extra room, and the door on the large closet. Even though you don't have a closet in the bedroom, you do have a few storage shelves, as you can see ahead and to the left. And a radiator. And a window. In fact, there are two windows in the bedroom, one on each opposite wall. You'll see the other window in the next picture. |
And there it is --- the second window in the bedroom. So, we have obviously turned around from the previous picture. As you can see, the bedroom is quite large: 18'4" x 10'3". And you can also see several electric outlets (one in the previous picture, too), for you to plug in your electric blanket and stereo and whatever else you might use in the bedroom. Of course, there are electric outlets in the other rooms, too. Come by and check it out! |
